• Please be informed that in the 9th International Wine Competition in Thessaloniki the Sigalas Santorini vintage 2008 won a Gold Medal with the best score (92.40) in the category -Dry White Wines.
The final score of the awarded wines was between the following ratings for each medal:

Grand Gold Medal: 93 - 100
Gold Medal: 87,50 – 92,99
Silver Medal: 84,20 - 87,49

It is the only International Wine Competition that takes place in Greece under the auspices of: the International Organization of Vine and Wine, Pan-Hellenic Union of Registered Enologists, Greek Wine Federation, Greek Sommeliers’ Union, National Inter-professional Organization of Vine and Wine, Central Union of Vine and Wine Producing Cooperatives Organizations of Greece, Hellenic Foreign Trade Board, Hellenic Association of Journalists and Writers of Wines and Spirits and the Municipality of Thessaloniki.

The “Thessaloniki International Wine Competition” is a prestigious and successful event gathering wines from all over the world, judged by qualified Greek and foreign professionals.

The organizers` aim is to present the richness of the Greek and International wine production and make known the Greek grape varieties to both public and trade people. 42 wine tasters from Greece and abroad (enologists, sommeliers and journalists) tasted 809 wines from Greece and 7 other countries:, Brazil, Slovakia, France, Spain, Cyprus, Italy and Romania.

• On the annual Guide to Buying Wine that is going to be released in November, the editors of  Wine & Spirits Magazine have chosen Domaine Sigalas as Winerie of the Year. Wineries of the Year were chosen based on consistently high performance and scores throughout the 12-month tasting cycle.
